Troubleshooting updating bios on a7n8x deluxe
I get a buzzing noise then this appears onscreen Award Boot Block BIOS v1.0 BIOS ROM Checksum error Detecting Floppy drive A media INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER Almost seems like the BIOS has forgotten where the hard drive is.If the system is left off for over an hour, no whining noise & it boots ok, but sometimes says CPU is not detected properly but it boots & goes ok. Any ideas Thanks This one seems easy to me, but the Bios Checksum means you need a new CMOS battery, dont ask me why, but for seven dollars you can fix this error. If its booting to windows, then there is nothing you need to do or worry about. If you dont push f4, it just goes about its booting business. If so, ts not an issue, i dont believe it adds any time to the booting process. The board has a built in raid comntroller, and is just giving you the option to enter the utility to set up an array. I have a nf7-s, so maybe its different, but the boards are comparable.
You'll really like the speed at which it loads when your set up in raid0.Good luck I have the same board, there are no jumpers on the board for raid configuration. What you did was installed the raid drivers that came with your mobo, you have to remove them from the control panel and this will stop the prompt at boot. I have tried to move the jumper , but ended up puting it back where it was for fear of screwwing something up. I have searched what seems to be a million Forums , searched the heck out of Asus` website and read the manual 30 times. I realize it is to be disabled in BIOS but for the life of me cannot find anything stating RAID or S-ATA. SHOULD`VE STAYED WITH MY MSI recently purchased and installed the mobo mentioned , all is well but ... You should be able to chose from ide, sata, raid and whatever your mobo supports.at boot I keep getting a message asking to set up Raid ... I am using a IDE Western Digital 80 gig w/8mb buffer. Ok u have to take ure Motherboard manual and take a look on the "jumpers" section of it. Try that and let us know ASUS P4T533-C P4 2.266 512 Mb Kingston 1066 rambus ATI 9800 pro 128 Mb Maxtor 80 Gb 7200rpm 8cache Maxtor 120 Gb same SB Audigy Player X45 AKG Headphones Kinnarp 6000 Free Float Yes, I have this mobo and this is how you do it. when it's up go to 'control panel', 'system' and there should be a device manager under one of those tabs...hardware.. There should be in the list of devices it will show you the raid with an ! click the properties and the drop down at the bottom should let you pick 'disable under this profile' or 'disable device'. Let me know if you get it oh, it's under xp as well but others are really similar to this.
